Bayside District Track and Field Carnivals
The Bayside District Track and Field Carnivals have been held over the last two weeks. The 13-19yrs carnival was held at QSAC on Thursday 31 July and Friday 1 August. Wynnum had over 60 students in attendance over the two days. The following students earned a top two finish or achieved a Met East qualifying standard and gained a place in the district team:
- Ezra: 1st in 14yrs Boys 100m and 14yrs Boys 200m.
- Kaprice P: 2nd in 13yrs Girls Shot Put
- Joachim S: 1st in 16yrs Boys Javelin, 2nd in 16yrs Boys Long Jump
- Laiva M: 2nd in 15yrs Girls 400m
- Leroy M: 6th in 13yrs Boys 400m
- Aidan H: 2nd in 17yrs Boys 400m
The 10-12yrs carnival was held on Thursday 7- Friday 8 August at Sheldon College. Our U12 students competed at this carnival. The students put in a great effort in a field with large numbers including both high and primary school students. Freddie put in some strong performances to make the district team for Multi-class 100m, 200m and Shot Put.
All students selected in the Bayside District Team will now have the opportunity to compete at the Met East Track and Field Trials on Thursday 28- Friday 29 August.
Well done to all students who competed at these carnivals. They did a great job in representing Wynnum High. Special congratulations and good luck to the students who will go on to compete at Met East.
