From the Principal

Something as simple as a conversation between a parent or carer with a student around assessment is an effective way to help them prioritise and reframe their learning activities at home. As we enter the last few weeks of term, and students will be heavily into completion of final assessments for current units, it’s important to remember all the good practices that support good learning all the time. Good learning behaviours and practices throughout the term will support students to final assessment completion allowing them to achieve their personal best.
A few practices that can support students to be present and learning at school every day in their program of study are:
- ensuring students have adequate sleep and nutrition;
- encouraging physical activity and energisation through hobbies or activities;
- encouraging students to seek support through teachers, friends or counsellors when feeling overwhelmed;
- celebrating effort and progress, including acknowledging hard work;
- talking about learning, facilitating students to prioritise and plan their learning efforts away from school.
Next term we will be hosting our school musical, Spamalot. This is a must see event for our community, with some amazing performances from our very own home grown talents. Please get on board and buy your tickets now, it promises to be an amazing show.
